Kathmandu:

The Federation of All Nepal Buddhist Association will be hosting the sacred crowning ceremony of the living saint and scholar Karma Chagme Rinpoche at the Sherpa monastery Orgyen Pema Choeling at 8.30 a.m. on Thursday. It is believed that witnessing of this crowning ceremony will liberate human beings from negative karma. The Rinpoche comes out only on special request and Thursday’s appearance will be one after 10 years. Chagme Trulku Sangag Tenzin was recognised as the person to wear the hat based on visions seen by Terton Chogyur Lingpa and Gyalwang Karmapa Khakyab Dorjee. Ratna Lingpa had prophesied:” This being (Karma Chagme Rinpoche) in Ngom holds the name of Raga Asya Avaloketesvara in successive 13 reincarnations, whoever beholds or connects with this bing will be born in Sukhavati.” According to various authentic sources, a hundred thousand dakinis offered this hat to Guru Padmasambhava in gratitude for giving them the secret teachings in Dhanakosa. Guru Rinpoche later hid the hat. After years, yogi Chogden Dorjee found the hat and brought it out. The hat was kept at the Tsurbu monastery adorned with Bhudda’s relics, other relics belonging to masters and yogis from India and Tibet, and chakras that free a person from negative karma and afflictions when one views the hat.
