Kathmandu:

The only award to felicitate Nepali women for their contribution in different sectors of society, Navadevi Awards 2007 is scheduled to take place on October 12 at Hotel Radisson. Established in 2002 by the Creative Statements the awards of the function are named after nine Goddesses representing different areas of profession. Annapurna for woman from the field of environment, creative arts and leadership, Bhagawati for woman from media and literary works, Bhawani for woman involved in sports, Durga for woman in civil service, Karuna for woman dedicated in social work, Lakshmi for woman entrepreneur, Mahamaya for woman from theatre, performing arts and glamour, Saraswati for woman from education field and Shakti for woman who has achieved the seemingly impossible.
