SCHOOL TIMES : Charm of deusi-bhailo

Almost two weeks after Dashain, another great festival arrives — the festival of lights, Tihar. I think many people like this festival more than Dashain because there are no animal sacrifices during Tihar. It is celebrates the victory of Ram over Ravan or the victory of truth over evil.

During this festival, the goddess of wealth Laxmi is worshipped. All the houses are decorated with flowers and lights. There is a custom of playing deusi and bhailo specially in the evenings, which is a fascinating aspect of Tihar. The crackers make everyone happy and make this festival even more joyful.

The last day of Tihar is supposed to be the most important day, which is Bhai tika. On this day sisters put tika on their brothers and pray for their long life.

I like Tihar because this festival is very joyful. I enjoy playing deusi the whole night and putting bhai tika too.
