SCHOOL TIMES : When cooking was so much fun
I had just passed the ‘Iron gate’ and the relief of having been successful was quite amazing. However, after so many days of holidaying, I grew quite bored and I remembered how I had celebrated the end of our exams with some of my friends.
Before leaving for my hometown, I had wanted a small get-together with my friends. They agreed to come to my house. We are not girls who love cooking, but were ready to try our hands at it.
With no one else in my house except the nine of us and my old maid, my house seemed to turn upside down. Everyone was busy cutting tomatoes, frying potatoes, rushing to the market to buy this and that, and another baking a cake. Everything was littered here and there, but all of us were having the time of our lives, laughing at each other because no one knew how to prepare anything.
It was too difficult to cut the potato and the tomato would just slip away from the hand. But we had a great time. We enjoyed the delicious finger chips, pizza, cold coffee and of course the famous cake.
My maid was furious to see the messy house. With music blaring at one corner and all of us dancing in the other, we clicked pictures and had a whole lot of masti. That’s why that day will always be treasured by each of us.
And for those of you who haven’t tried cooking, try it out with your friends. Trust me, you will love it and have a rocking time together.
