Kathmandu:

It was a June afternoon. The time was about 2 pm. The temperature was about 30-32 degrees Celsius. The event was organised outdoors. You must be thinking that the show would be a flop in such case. No! You are absolutely wrong. Yes! We are talking about the year’s biggest musical concert, ‘Shikhar Lights Music Concert’ that took place at Bhrikuti Mandap grounds on June 18. The scorching heat could not stop the large crowd from attending the live performance of their favourite Nepali pop singers and bands. Raju Lama of Mongolian Heart performed some of his popular songs including “Shayed timro batoma” and Nima Rumba also performed five of his best songs including “Priyeshi”, “Sanjhama pani ratama pani” and “Aau aau na ma sanga gauna” amongst the sea of audience making them sing and dance along indifferent to the high temperature and dust that covered them while dancing on the ground.

The audience was throwing gifts at its much-loved singers and Sabin Rai, in response, requested the lovely audiences not to throw anything because the crowd was so huge that even a kiss from each one of them would literally fell the singers. Sabin Rai, Robin and the New Revolution, Angels, 1974 AD and Kranti Ale of Doctor Pilot also presented their best songs. Presenters Prasan Sangden and Suraj Singh Thakuri were impressed by the patience and enthusiasm of the audience and requested a round of applause for them.
