Sex and city girls start to the US box office
SEX AND THE CITY: THE MOVIE has stormed straight to the top of the U.S. box office, beating INDIANA JONES into second place.
The big screen adaptation of the hit TV series took an impressive $55.7 million in it's opening weekend (30May-1Apr08), almost twice the amount studio bosses expected.
Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull took $46 million (GBP23 million) in it's second week.
Another new entry, horror film The Strangers debuted at three with $20.7 million (GBP10.35 million); Iron Man took $14 million (GBP7 million) to seal fourth place. The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian, finished fifth with $13 million (GBP6.5 million).
