MUMBAI: Nobody can forget the electrifying chemistry between Kamal Haasan and yesteryear siren Rati Agnihotri in the 1981 cult hit Ek Duje Ke Liye.

Now, after almost three decades, rumour mills have been working overtime, buzzing that Kamal’s daughter Shruti and Rati’s son Tanuj are all set to act in a remake of the film. When contacted, Shruti revealed that the news was far from the truth. “I have absolutely no clue how these rumours crop up,” said the actress laughing, “Must be some really idle minds at work. For starters, I haven’t been approached to do the movie and even if I were approached, my hands are full with Murugadoss’s project at the moment. I have no reason to deny anything and if I were planning on acting in a flick, I’d need enough time to do justice to it. I’m currently in Mumbai, setting up my house.”

Meanwhile, a little birdie has it that the gorgeous girl will be in the city shortly in connection with her upcoming Murugadoss film, which will see her act opposite Suriya for the first time.
