Sibling love fails to stir emotions
Kathmandu: Anil Sangraula’s Pyaro Bahini was screened for the press at the Bishwajyoti cinema hall,on March 5. Director Sangraula and the leading crew were also present at the screening.
As the title suggests, the flick attempts to portray an unconditional and sacrificial sibling love.
Though the flick makes a knock-down-drag-out attempt to be a tearjerker, the movie lacks the slightest semblance of strength in several fronts.
As much as there seems to be a conspicuous lack of in-depth study of characters and circumstances, this family drama begs for a good screenplay that could have given the stereotyped characters a little time for a breather.
Furthermore, listening to some familiar Hindi tunes in Nepali also is a disappointment to those desiring originality in Nepali cinema. Nepali cinema indeed has a long way to go ahead.
