Singer Thapa no more
KATHMANDU: Senior folk singer and musician Ram Thapa died on November 20. He was 50.
Thapa had been suffering from liver problem for the last two years. He died at the Norvic hospital on Thursday morning while undergoing treatment.
Thapa is known for his unique and humorous folk songs. He had given music and lent his voice to some 500 songs.
Thapa was cremated at the Pashupati Aryaghat. His wife Rajani Thapa lit his funeral pyre.
Born in 2015 BS at Kamal Pokhari, Kathmandu, Thapa began singing in 2031 BS. He was working as a senior music coordinator of Radio Nepal for the last two decades.
