Kathmandu:

Sunday brings yet another weekend celebration mood to valley denizens but what if it is celebrated sparing all the booz for a day. Sober Sunday on March 27 at Himalayan Java — an event by The Big Picture and the Himalayan Java — is what we are talking about. An unconventional party, with a deluge of non-alcoholic drinks accompanied by mind-blowing unplugged music by Brothers-in-Law, also featuring Yogeshwor Amatya, Rashmi Singh and The Uglyz Band, was an event to rememer. Kumud, one of the invitees in the party whispered,

“Never heard of the band before, but they’re fabulous.” At seven the band hit the floor and started belting out their favourite English numbers ranging from love songs and ballads that permeated a romantic atmosphere. The crowd with hot mugs of Mocha and Cappuccino along with the soothing music enjoyed the event to the fullest. Yogeshwor Amatya added musical fervour to the party by singing “Badal Banai Deu”. Some even remarked that it was the best ever performance by Rashmi Singh and The Uglyz Band. “The Uglyz never seem to be ugly, you know…” one of the guests asserted. The party continued till 10:30 pm leaving the audiences craving for more.
