For puffy eyes you should remove all traces of under eye make-up with ordinary milk or buttermilk as it tones the delicate area of the eye. Use a good concealer and a foundation over it to cover the eye.

The best way of applying lipstick is with the lip brush as it gives the perfect finish. Lipstick does not make your lips black; in fact it protects it from the sun and from chapping. But one has to use a well known product and not the fakes you get, as that will make it dark.

Sneh, I’ve extra sensitive, dry skin and due to this I cannot apply any sort of compact or powder. What can be done about it? — Shweta

For extra sensitive skin, all you need to do is protect your skin from the sun, and once you have done that you will not have to use any compact or powder. Besides, you should use a moisturizer at night before going to sleep.

To make your eyes look younger use neutral shades like cocoa, plum or grey. Avoid bright colours. As they only draw attention to wrinkly lids.

Hi, I have invested a lot on makeup brushes but do not know how to wash them and take care of them. Please tell me the ways. — Kanchan

Whichever sort of brushes you use, nylon or hair it should be kept clean. After using it wipe off the excess make-up from the brush with a tissue. Wash them in lukewarm water, using mild shampoo and rinse thoroughly. Dry it on a rolled towel, and then press the brush back into shape with fingertips to prevent it from feathering. Lie it flat to dry.
