Hi! I am going to be 14 in a month. What is the best make up look to wear? — Mona Shakya
I love natural! It’s also the trend. Skip foundation but use a concealer that matches your skin tone to hide a pimple that may appear at your age. Lip gloss in a pink shade is natural, apply very light pink blush if necessary and a cream light brown eye shadow is best.
Mascara should be brown in colour as black is too harsh for your age. Avoid eyeliner or use it sparingly. If you can, match it with the colour of your mascara.
Hi! I’m 18 and go to college. Recently I have been trying out foundation, but a few people say I look plastic. I have tanned skin and have been using liquid foundation. How can I get rid of this fake look? — Renu Tamrakar
The first thing is to make sure your foundation matches your skin tone exactly. Try sheer liquid foundation or tinted moisturiser and invest in a good concealer to hide your blemishes. Sounds like your liquid or powder formula is too heavy which is making you look too caked up. Apply your foundation with a damp sponge or your fingers and use a fine brush for your concealer. If you follow this technique you will not look plastic. Remember to switch to a darker foundation in the summer if your tan gets deeper.
I am just starting out as a model and would love to create a flawless look on myself. How can I make my thin lips look fuller and my face slimmer? — Sophie.
Start looking after your skin with a good cleansing, toning and moisturising routine. Invest in a sheer liquid foundation which will make your skin look flawless and natural. The same goes for concealer. Mascara, a little bronzer, blush and a light lipstick is enough. Stay away from dark lip colour. Pale shimmery and glossy shades make lips appear larger. Don’t worry about having a wide face: you’re lucky! All the good models of today have lovely open faces with broad cheekbones. Good luck with your new career!
Is it bad for your skin if you wear blusher without foundation or powder? — Renuka Gurung
Not at all. In fact, it can look very natural. Just make sure you find a blush that goes with your skin tone and make sure it is non-comedogenic (won’t clog pores).
