Special screening of 60-sec films
KATHMANDU: Thirty-five movies — that are a part of 60 Seconds International Film Festival (60 SIFF) — were screened at the Cine-De Chef, CTC Mall, Sundhara on May 24.
Personalities from different walks of life attended the special screening of the films that comprised 60-second movies from Nepali filmmakers as well, stated a press release issued by Open Space Nepal (OSN), country partner for 60 SIFF, that organised the screening in Nepal.
Altogether 400 films from over 20 countries had participated in the festival, that had called for application in 2015. The movies had to be sent via email. Nepal had sent 20 films to the festival. The winning films were announced in February 2016, as per Faija Parween Chairperson, OSN.
And movies were produced on themes of peace, interfaith, water, creative, fiction, comedy, environment, democracy, innovation, colours of your country, conflict, and tolerance, the press statement mentioned.
Quoting Muhammad Saif, Country Director of 60 SIFF for Nepal, and Creative Director of OSN, the statement mentioned, “Creativity has no limitations. Young people can use 60 Second Films as a tool to advocate and promote citizen journalism.”
The screening took place in partnership with Morango Films, a film making company from Pakistan, the initiator of the festival that started in the year 2013, as per the press release.
