Spread your wings and fly

Kathmandu:

If you are among those dreaming to fly high, there is good news for you. The Air Hostess Academy (AHA) will be opening its branch in Nepal soon. “There is a lot of scope for youth in Nepal to do better in life. To fulfil their dreams we will be opening our academy at the end of November or by December,” says Sapna Gupta, chief consultant at AHA. AHA pioneered the development and nourishment of skilled manpower for the service industry and is the first of its kind in India. Starting with only three students in 1997, this academy has seen tremendous growth in eight years. It was the first institute that trained students as airhostess, flight stewards and airport ground staff.

Spread over nine major cities in India and over 18 branches, AHA is planning to go international. “Nepal was a good option. People are getting career conscious day by day and if we could do something for those who have the knack and the dream for job in the hospitable industry, this will be a great boon to them. Besides the situation of the country is improving and with the flow of tourist more and more job avenues will open up leading to requirement of a skilled manpower. That is where we come in. We will be able to provide the cream to the service industry,” says Gupta.

As AHA is known for giving the best to the service industry, Gupta says they will be strict in recruiting students. “We believe in giving and bringing out the best in a person, so we will have tests and few rounds of screening before we take the gem for polishing. We will be taking in few students. We will be bringing in some of the best and renowned professionals in the aviation, hotel and tourism industry from India and a chosen few from Nepal,” adds Gupta.

The institute is not only known for its excellent and rigorous training but for placements too. “In India we are very well known for placements in the best organisations and we will keep that up in Nepal too,” says Gupta.

The design of the curriculum is based on the demands of the industry related to aviation, hotels, tourism and hospitality sector. Courses offered:

•Aviation and Hospitality Management (Diploma course): Duration one year (5 days a week); Fee Rs 84,500

•Diploma course in Global Aviation and Hospitality Management: Duration two years; Fee 1,45,000.
