NEW YORK: J-Lo had the mother of all star-studded birthday bashes at the weekend.

The superstar singer-turned-actress celebrated her 40th at a New York restaurant with Madonna, Beyonce, Rihanna, Alicia Keys and Mary J Blige.

And it didn't matter how big the star was, they all had phones and cameras confiscated to keep secret what went on.

Seeing as it was Madge and Rih who got the dancing started with a bop to legendary Rob Base and DJ E-Z track It Takes Two, I'm gutted there aren't snaps of it.
