Stefani comes out in Brits’ defence

LONDON: Former No Doubt lead singer Gwen Stefani has come out in defence of pop singer Britney Spears. Stefani reveals that she is concerned for Spears for her recent strange behaviour, which includes shaving her hair and a rehab rejection. She is hoping Spears gets her act together soon, reports contactmusic.com. She says, “I used to live in the same area as Spears for a while. I just want to scoop her up and give her a kiss. I hope she’s all right. She’s just had a new baby and stuff. I hope she can just enjoy it because it’s an incredible thing.”

The Agence France Presse reported Spears has entered a rehabilitation centre for the third time in the space of a week, citing reports on Wednesday. People magazine cited a lawyer for Spears’ estranged husband Kevin Federline confirming the star had re-entered rehab, 24 hours after checking out of the Promises facility. The television show Extra reported Spears had been collected from Federline’s house by her mother late on Wednesday before being delivered back to the Promises centre.

It came amid reports Federline’s lawyers had been preparing for an emergency hearing early on Thursday concerning custody of the couple’s two children.
