Sting wraps up
LISBON: British rocker Sting wrapped up a major music festival in the Portuguese capital early on Monday, which featured over 70 acts and drew a record 3,85,000 people over six days. Former Beatle Paul McCartney, pop singer Britney Spears, heavy metal band Metallica and rockers Foo Fighters were among the other acts to take the stage at Lisbon’s Bela Vista park during ‘Rock in Rio-Lisbon’. Attendance at the event was greater than that of Woodstock in the US in 1969 and had only been surpassed by the previous three editions of ‘Rock in Rio’. The “For a Better World”, sought to raise awareness of social problems and collect funds for charities.
