MUMBAI: Bollywood actress Tabu says she wants to make people laugh after spending years making people cry. The talented actress is known for serious, strong character roles in Indian cinema.

Tabu also plans to write a Hindi-language film script.

“There’s truth, there’s connection in writing in your own language,” she told the DNA newspaper in an interview published on April 27. “I want to write about the importance of having a good childhood.”

Tabu is associated with several children’s charities that look after the welfare and education of orphans and street children.

She also said that she loved comic movies so much that she was keen to act in one.

“I love watching comedies. I become an embarrassment in theatres — I fall off the seat laughing,” Tabu said. “I’ve made people cry enough. Now I want to make them laugh. I want to do a comedy.”
