Talented teens

Kathmandu:

The talent round of ‘Clean and Clear Miss Teen Nepal — A Cultural Talent Show 2007’ was held at BICC on September 6. As each of the contestants came on stage to show their talents within the three minutes allotted for them, they displayed different talents, which brought variety to the show.

First on stage was Purnima Shah doing Kata, a form of Karate and a demonstration showing ‘Girl Power.’ Anita Silwal did a monologue, talking about the sorrows and hopes of a widow. Then there was a bubbly and lively performance by Agya Mainali dancing to the hit number Chiyabarima. Sunita Shah came and gave a touching speech about ‘street children’. It was a dance galore with another participant Prekshya Adhikari giving a charming performance in the song Jindagani Darpan Chhaya. Then there was a confident and rapid speech about a special ornament we possess — ‘Discipline’ by Kalpana Shrestha. Shaking her hips to the beats of Beautiful Liar was Aayusha Karki. This was followed by a thought provoking speech on Global warming by Juni Kasthakar.

Ashmita Agrawal’s performance in Bheda ko oon jasto created a cheerful ambience in the hall.

It was followed by the ‘Best Dress Round’ in which the girls had a chance to show their creativity by combining traditional garments with modernised look to create cool yet cultural dresses. The winners of both the rounds will be declared on the Finale of the event on September 7.
