Taylor rubbishes marriage rumours

LONDON: Elizabeth Taylor has denied she is set to tie the knot for the ninth time. The Hollywood legend says her friendship with the artist and photographer Firooz Zahedi is purely platonic. Elizabeth, 74, explained: “We are not, have never been and will never be romantically involved. My private life and my plans, at this time remain private.”

Earlier this year the Hollywood icon, whose last big screen appearance was in the 1994 movie, The Flintstones, was forced to make another public denial, this time over claims she had Alzheimer’s disease. At the time, she said reports she was “gravely ill” were completely false, but admitted to using a wheelchair because of chronic back pain. Elizabeth now spends her time designing jewellery and campaigning for Aids charities.
