TGIF Nepal Fashion Week begins today

KATHMANDU: It all started out with a spark, and now it’s ready to set the Nepali fashion industry ablaze. The most awaited fashion event — the Blenders Pride — TGIF Nepal Fashion Week 2016, is finally here. The nation’s biggest fashion gala is prepared to raise the bar of style and glamour of Nepal from March 30 to April 2 at Hyatt Regency Kathmandu.

Seventy-three designers, professional and upcoming, and the 20 models — international and national, and the hard working support team have left no stone unturned to make this event into a grand spectacle of glitz, glamour and finesse.

The collections this year are diverse in terms of style and themes. Not only you will witness how various aspects of life have inspired the designers, you will also get to see the very first collections of the budding designers from IEC School of Fashion.  Breaking away from the same old designs, the new faces have mostly infused the western and eastern elements together perfectly.  Professional designers, who will be revealing their collections for the season, include — Tenzin Tseten Bhutia, Kushboo Dangol, Rasna Pradhan, Manish Rai, Rakshya Shah, Siwangi Pradhan, Sushma Singh, Upasana Saraff, Yubi Thapa, Daljit Sudan and AB Walliuddin Ahmed Chowdhury.

In addition to the most incandescent names to light up the catwalks, there will be supermodels not only from Nepal but also from other parts of the world.  Alexia Fereiro and Natalia Dvoretskaya from Russia, Nikita Sachdev from the United States and Anna Zub from Ukraine will flaunt the designs on the runway along with the Nepali models.

Another main attraction of the show is the after party, where the audience will get to groove to the music of DJ Rhea who is coming all the way from Kolkata, India.
