From the world of video game, the flightless Angry Birds have catapulted to the silver screen and have landed on an island to give a good time to the audience through their silliness and cuteness. The Angry Birds Movie is a moderate but fun-filled film as long as you are seated, with good animation, some funny characters to enjoy and good laughable moments.

Red (Jason Sudeikis) is an outcast. The bird that is an orphan and lonely since its childhood has a temper problem. Due to its temper, it is sent to anger management classes. In his classes, he meets other birds like Chuck (Josh Gad) with super speed, and Bomb (Danny McBride) with the ability to explode like a bomb among others. In the peaceful world of birds, come green piggies to the island. The piggies extend their friendship to the birds who accept it without any question. The only who questions the intentions of the pigs is Red.

The Angry Birds Movie is not a new idea and an intelligent film. Directors Clay Kaytis and Fergal Reilly have just sugar-coated a linear story of an outcast-turned-hero, and presented it to make children and the likes laugh in silly moments and jokes. Expressive animated characters with some interesting characters, the quotient of humour and entertainment, oozing cuteness from young birds and danceable background make you sit through the film. There are also life lessons to take away from the film.

However, the film lacks in anger — in that it is titled The Angry Birds Movie. Even Red, who has a temper problem, can’t bring anger to the screen. Red is just sulky and raising his thick eyebrows. The characters like The Mighty Eagle (Peter Dinklage) and Chuck as well as Bomb make up for it with their comic best.

The film takes time to build with laughs here and there initially and catches up with bigger laughs. All in all, The Angry Birds Movie is a cute, colourful and comical film.
