A reality TV show in the Netherlands is offering human kidneys as a prize to highlight a lack of organ donors. The Big Donor show features a woman who’s really ill and wants to give her kidneys to someone else after she dies. The three contestants all have diseases that mean they need new kidneys but viewers vote to decide who’ll get them. Lots of people have criticised the show saying it’s in bad taste, but producers say it highlights how many people there are still waiting for transplants. “There are fewer and fewer donors and maybe after this show more people will donate.”
