THE WORLD THIS WEEK: Ukranian is world’s new tallest man

A Ukrainian has been named the tallest man in the world, standing at more than two-and-a-half metres tall. Leonid Stadnik is 21 centimetres taller than the person who used to be the world’s tallest, China’s Bao Xishun. Stadnik was a normal sized child until he had an operation at 14, that seemed to start a huge growth spurt. He has claimed to be the world’s tallest man before, but his record was not confirmed as he refused to be measured by Guinness World Records in the past.
