Time to sing ’n dance

Kathmandu:

This Friday night was as enthralling as the other Friday nights as have become a common phenomenon in the city these days. Two parties grabbed maximum attention of party-lovers and undoubtedly all of them had a perfect getaway from their otherwise busy schedules. Tritha Sinha at Black Pearl and DJ Whosane at Rox made the party scenario of Nepal even better with their sizzling performances. The other major bash was the 1974 AD’s jam at the Jawlakhel ground on October 8 which attracted a lot of screaming fans.

The boys on home ground

Venue: Jawlakhel Youth Club

Crowd: 3,000

Time: 5pm

It was one of the most outstanding concerts by one of the major Nepali bands.

Though, the concert really kicked off at 4 pm, a huge crowd had gathered at the Jawlakhel Youth Club before the band enthralled the crowd with their amazing numbers. As the theme of the concert was based on the message of peace, the concert began with the awesome number by the band Rato ra chandra surya that could almost prepare the crowd for a rebellion! But, the crowd wanted a different fare altogether (at least for a change!), and the band had to switch to romantic numbers.

While the beginning numbers focussed more on its theme, it received incredible ovation for its passionate love songs. One could never imagine the band could have witnessed such huge crowd at the home ground. The concert was organised by Party Nepal and Annapurna Post was the official media.

Whosane modulating

DJ Whosane from Mumbai made a huge imression on the Capital’s party animals. A DJ, who has been in the profession for years and someone who has been rocking numerous clubs in India and abroad, he gave a special musical bonanza to Nepal. ‘Modulate with DJ Whosane’ was a party of a different class. DJ Sickfreak took control of the console to give the party a head start with a set of commercial and hip-hop tracks. The crowd started pouring in with zest to welcome the much-awaited DJ Whosane who stepped on the floor at 11 pm. The wait was worthwhile as some amazing music played by the DJ followed. DJ Whosane spun some great tracks that belonged to genres from House, Progressive to Trance. He also played a number of his own Hindi remixes that made the people shake their booties/bodies like never before. An impressed crowd danced away till the wee hours. Modulate with DJ Whosane was a party that enchanted the music lovers of Kathmandu and kudos to Collage Entertainment for such a fabulous party.

Tirtha time

Venue: Black Pearl

Time: 11:30 PM

Crowd: 250

Tritha Sinha with her sensuous looks and extremely melodious voice made the crowd at Black Pearl have one of the most memorable Friday nights ever. With a voice that reminds of you some of the most sought after voices of yesteryears and today, and some international artistes too, Tritha also known as the Shakira of India, used her talent and majestic persona in the perfect manner to capture the attention of the enthusiastic crowd.

DJ Rupesh, who very aptly lifted the party spirits of the crowd with some awesome set of music, handled the initial part of the event. By the time Tritha stepped on the floor, the crowd had gotten into the perfect mood for a musical extravaganza. She started with some awe-inspiring Hindi and English numbers and did her best to get the crowd equally involved. From Shakira’s famous number Whenever, Wherever to the latest popular track Dhoom Machale, Tritha performed a perfect combination of great music.

This musical journey went on till 1 am, and the crowd just didn’t seem to have enough of this lady who won their hearts with her immense talent and drop-dead-gorgeous looks. DMI — The Entertainment People have done a commendable job in terms of giving pure entertainment to Nepal.
