LOS ANGELES: American actress Vanessa Hudgens recently broke down at an award show while revealing that her father Greg Hudgens is struggling with stage four cancer.

The High School Musical actress said after receiving the award for Breakthrough Performer at the 2015 Industry Dance Awards and Cancer Benefit Show that she hates cancer as in 2014 her lover Austin Butler’s mum died due to this disease and now her father has recently been diagnosed with cancer in stage four cancer, E! Online reported.

The 26-year-old actress-singer also dedicated her award to her dad, her boyfriend’s late mother and to all the families who are still struggling with this, because she said it really takes a strong person and a strong family to be able to help those out who are going through this disease.

Notably, Vanessa previously hinted of her fathers’ ill heath on Instagram as she posted a picture of her nursing her dad along with a caption “Please pray for his healing!!! The more prayers the better.” The event was held to benefit The Circle of Hope, a charity that supports dancers who survive cancer.
