Sir Antony bares all
LONDON: Oscar winning actor Sir Anthony Hopkins had to bare all in his role as the mythical Beowulf throughout the entire filming process. Hopkins stars as the Scandinavian warrior in an animated computer-generated film and had to film his scenes naked in a thin wetsuit, contactmu-sic.com reported. He says: “It’s pretty strange but I enjoyed it. You don’t wear any clothes and you’re covered in dots and all these little markers are all over you. Before each scene you stand there with your arms apart and over your head and they photograph you into the computer. You’ve got dots all over your eyes so they can now make the eye movements real.” — HNS
Blunt strategy: Bash burglar with award
LONDON: Singer James Blunt fought off a burglar who broke into his hotel room by bashing him with the Best Newcomer Award he had just won. According to contactmusic.com, Blunt found the man in his room at the Martinez Hotel in Cannes. The incident happened just hours after he was presented with the prize at the NRJ Radio Awards on January 21. Says Blunt: “It was pitch black in the room so I couldn’t really seen anything. I was looking for a phone to ring downstairs, or for an emergency button to push, but the only thing I could find was my NRJ award. It’s a big solid lump, so I picked it up and whacked him. He then threw himself off the balcony and ran away.” — HNS
