Samjhana Audio and Video Pvt Ltd and Prakash Poudel organised a press meet about the re-release of his last album ‘Virus’ on February 16 at Samjhana Audio and Video, New Road. Prakash Poudel of “Malai tyai keti chahinchha” fame — got into controversy with his two songs in his last album ‘Virus’. “I have replaced those two songs and I am re-releasing the album again with the name ‘AntiVirus.”
“The album ‘Virus’ was released six months ago but since a controversy arouse because of some of the words, the sale was halted,” informed Amar Maharjan, manager, Samjhana Audio and Video. The album comprises same number of songs — 10, only two songs are replaced. The video of one of the replaced songs “Doctor Saa’b” was also shown at the programme. Another replaced song is “Paisa”.
Prakash informed about his one experimental song, which he has included in the album. “Whisper rap is an innovative song which, I believe, is arguably done for the first time not only in Nepal but in the whole world,” said Poudel. The song is sung in a way that Poudel whispers to woo a girl.
“Both the replaced songs are full of humour with social messages. ‘Doctor Saa’b’ is dedicated to my friend Prakash Ojha who also appears in the video. The song is about people’s conception that those who are lean and thin should not worry much about their physique. Instead they should emphasise on actions that make impact. Since I myself am a health worker by profession, the song has come out of my experiences,” said Poudel. Another song “Paisa” is about how money brings chasm and disintegration in family and society.
Poudel’s ‘AntiVirus’ will be in the market this week.
