War of college bands

KATHMANDU: In order to encourage college musical bands and to provide them a platform to pursue their passion for music, KCM annually organises a music competition. In its fifth year, the KCM Inter College Music Competition (ICMC) is going to be held from November 27. College bands playing music of any genre can participate in the competition.

All 28 college bands that have entered the competition will compete for the preliminary rounds on November 27 and November 29 - 14 on each day. The preliminaries will be held at the Nepal Sanskriti Kala Kendra, Kalikasthan.

The 14 final bands selected will compete for the final which will be held on December 6 at the Bhrikuti Mandap. Bhumi and The Oblivion are the guest bands for the finale of ICMC.

The winner of the competition will receive Rs 20,000, Wai Wai gift hamper and a free recording for a song with a recording company. The second prize winners will walk away with Rs 10,000 in cash, Wai Wai gift hamper, while the band that stands third will receive Rs 5,000 in cash and Wai Wai gift hamper.

The tickets for all three events are priced at Rs 50.
