What a memory!
Kathmandu:
Guinness World Record holder Biswaroop Roy Chowdhury demonstrated his stunning memory power and shared some basic secrets with the audience at Nepal Academy Hall, Kamaladi on January 3. Former Prime Minister Lokendra Bahadur Chand inaugurated the seminar on January 3.
The audience’s excitement was massive seeing the ‘Memory Man’ display his magic. Chowdhury holds Guinness world record for strongest memory by recalling 14 randomly selected birth dates with names in given order in two minutes and for push-ups by doing 198 push-ups in a minute.
Chowdhury taught the basics for increasing memory power with the help of interesting interactive games. For example, he asked the members of the audience to answer various questions and to tell last two digits of their phone numbers. The numbers were projected on the front screen, recalling which at one go seemed almost an impossible task. But Chowdhury easily recalled the dozens of numbers and words, which was followed by a thunderous ovation.
“For a sharp memory, it is important to associate the information with other things and be
imaginative,” he said. “You need to see things as moving colourful pictures,” he added.
A very young student of Chowdhury also surprised the audience by recalling the numbers on the screen after some time. He could also tell the day of birth from the birth dates of the audience.
The one-hour seminars, priced at Rs 100, will also be held on January 4 and 5 at 10 am, 12 noon and 3 pm at the Nepal Academy Hall. You can also take part in a four-day workshop from January 6 priced at Rs 5,000.
