LONDON: Hollywood actress Reese Witherspoon has finally agreed to marry actor Jake Gyllenhall this Christmas.

Gyllenhall reportedly told friends he had plans to wed Witherspoon in December this year after he was through filming his forthcoming adventure movie Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, reports Contactmusic.com.

“Jake is telling everyone they are getting married at Christmas. He told me he had proposed several times but she kept telling him she wanted to give their relationship more time,” a source on the movie’s Morocco set told British newspaper The Mail. “When he asked her again a couple of weeks ago, she finally said yes,” he added.

The actress had earlier been married to Ryan Phillipe with whom she has two children. She met Gyllenhall on the sets of Rendition in 2006. Throughout 2007, there was constant speculation regarding their affair, which they denied.

However, it was only after the finalisation of Witherspoon’s divorce in October 2007, Gyllenhall and Witherspoon became more open with their relationship.
