KATHMANDU: Santa Claus, plum cakes, stars, Christmas trees, stockings, gingerbread house... these are the things that add to the excitement and the atmosphere of Christmas. Well, all these have come to Yak and Yeti. And to get into the Christmas spirit, a cake-mixing ceremony was held at the hotel’s Bakery for the hotel staff on December 14.
From the GM to the vice-president to the rest of the staff, everyone participated in the cake-mixing ceremony under the guidance of the Bakery chef.
Said marketing and communications manager Surendra Thakuri, “This is our tradition, and we have a cake-mixing ceremony every year around 10-15 days before Christmas. This is to let people know that Christmas has arrived and to get into the spirit of the season.”
He also informed that the Pastry Shop has been turned into a Gingerbread House and stockings, Santas, Christmas tree are all in place turning it into a Christmas land.
Christmas carols will be heard in the hotel premises from December 22-24 at 5:30 pm, while a Special Christmas Eve dinner is planned at the Chimney and Sunrise Café. The Café will host a Christmas lunch too. A Christmas Mass to be solemnised by Father Justine is planned for December 25 at 11:00 am, while the hotel will open its doors to the children of Bal Mandir for a Hi-tea especially planned for them at 3:00 pm.
