KATHMANDU, MAY 8
The weather pattern across the country will remain partly to generally cloudy, with light rainfall expected across the nation today, according to the Meteorological Forecast Division (MFD).
In the hilly regions, there will be light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder, lightning, and gusty winds. Similarly, some areas in the terai regions may experience brief rain and thundershowers, as per the MFD.
This weather pattern is projected to continue into the night, affecting provinces such as Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini, along with scattered spots in the hilly regions of other provinces.
The country has been experiencing rainfall in the last 24 hours. Dipayal received the highest amount of rainfall, with 45.7mm, followed by Nepalgunj with 30.2mm, Janakpur with 27mm, and Simara with 20.04mm. The Kathmandu Valley experienced 1mm of rainfall.
Additionally, there's a likelihood of light snowfall in a few places in the high hilly and mountainous regions.
The MFD predicts that on Thursday and Friday, various parts of the country will continue to experience light rains, thunderstorms, and gusty winds.
The country is under the influence of western winds, local winds, and a low-pressure system forming around Bihar state in India.
