KATHMANDU, JUNE 22

The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology (DHM) has forecast partly to generally cloudy conditions across the country today, with light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning likely in many areas of Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini Provinces, as well as in the hilly regions. Some areas in the rest of the country may also experience rainfall.

There is a chance of heavy rainfall at one or two places in the hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini Provinces. Light snowfall is also possible at a few locations in the high mountainous regions.

For tonight, the weather is expected to remain partly to generally cloudy throughout the country. Light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is likely at many places in Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini Provinces, and at some locations in the remaining provinces.

The DHM has also forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall at a few places in Koshi, Madhesh, and Bagmati Provinces, and heavy rainfall at one or two places in Gandaki, Lumbini, and Sudurpaschim Provinces. Light snowfall may occur at a few places in the high mountainous region.

In the Kathmandu Valley, the DHM has predicted partly to generally cloudy conditions with light to moderate rain or thundershowers this afternoon, continuing into the night. The valley has a 60% chance of rainfall both this afternoon and tonight.

According to the DHM, the country is currently under the influence of monsoon winds.
