The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology (DHM) has forecast light to moderate rainfall in parts of Nepal on Friday, particularly in the Himalayan and hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces.

According to the department, generally cloudy conditions are expected in the Himalayan and hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini provinces. The Himalayan and hilly areas of Karnali and Sudurpashchim provinces, along with the Terai region, are expected to remain partly cloudy.

Moderate rainfall is likely at a few places in the Himalayan and hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces. Light rainfall is also forecast at one or two places in the hilly regions of Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpashchim provinces and in parts of the Terai of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini.

For Friday night, the department said generally cloudy conditions will persist in the Himalayan and hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces, while other hilly regions and the Terai are expected to remain partly cloudy.

Light rain or snowfall is likely at one or two places in the Himalayan areas of Koshi Province, while isolated light rainfall is possible in the hilly areas of Bagmati and Gandaki provinces.

The department said the country's weather is currently influenced by monsoon winds, along with a partial influence of westerly winds.

In Kathmandu Valley, the maximum temperature is expected to range between 28°C and 30°C, while the minimum temperature is forecast between 19°C and 21°C. The capital has a 20 percent chance of rainfall during both the day and night.

Pokhara is expected to record maximum temperatures of 29°C to 31°C with a 40 percent chance of rain during the day. Night temperatures are forecast between 21°C and 23°C, accompanied by a 30 percent chance of rainfall.

In the western and southern plains, Dhangadhi and Nepalgunj are forecast to record maximum temperatures of 33°C to 35°C and 34°C to 36°C, respectively. Biratnagar and Janakpur are expected to see highs ranging from 32°C to 34°C and 33°C to 35°C.
