KATHMANDU, FEBRUARY 23

The Meteorological Forecast Division predicts that Bagmati, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces will experience partly cloudy conditions in their hilly regions, today.

Meanwhile, Koshi and Gandaki provinces will see a mix of partly to generally cloudy skies, while the rest of the country can expect mainly fair weather.

As night falls, partly cloudy conditions are predicted in the hilly areas of Koshi, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces, while the remainder of the country will remain fair.

There's also a likelihood of light snowfall in a few places in Koshi and Gandaki provinces, as well as in high hilly and mountainous areas elsewhere. This weather pattern is expected to persist through the night in Koshi, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces.

According to the MFD, Traces to light rain may occur in isolated spots of Koshi and Gandaki provinces.

Over the past 24 hours, Kathmandu received the most rainfall at 7.8 mm, followed by Okhaldhunga with 5.4 mm, and Dipayal and Dadeldhura with 3.2 mm each.

The temperature in Kathmandu plummeted to 3.5°C this morning, according to MFD observations at 8:45 am. Currently, Kathmandu Valley enjoys sunny and clear skies.

The MFD anticipates gradual weather improvement with occasional partial cloudiness and general cloudy conditions, though fair weather will prevail in most areas. However, sporadic light rain and snowfall are possible in high regions of the country.

The country is presently influenced by a westerly low-pressure system.
