KATHMANDU, OCTOBER 3

Nepal defeated Oman by 56 runs in the ongoing tri-nation T-20 series in King City, Canada, on Wednesday night.

Chasing a target of 158 runs set by Nepal, Oman were bowled out for 101 runs in 19.5 overs. Oman's Zeeshan Maqsood top-scored with 35 runs, while Aqib Ilyas contributed 22 runs.

Earlier, Nepal posted 157 runs for the loss of seven wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Captain Rohit Poudel led the team with a crucial 56 runs off 44 balls, including two fours and four sixes. Sandeep Lamichhane and Poudel also excelled with the ball, taking two wickets each to seal the victory.

Among Nepal's other batsmen, opener Anil Saha managed 11 runs, while Asif Sheikh scored 16, Dev Khanal 18, Dipendra Singh Airee 1, Gulshan Jha 2, and Kushal Bhurtel 11.

Despite losing the toss and being put to bat first, Nepal secured a convincing win to strengthen their position in the series.
