KATHMANDU, JULY 6

Weather in several parts of the country is cloudy with rainfall due to the influence of monsoon wind, the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, Meteorological Forecasting Division said.

Currently, the weather is partly cloudy to generally cloudy in Province 2 and Bagmati province, and generally to fully cloudy in the rest of the provinces with light to moderate rainfall occuring at some places of Province 1 and Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini and Sudurpaschim provinces.

Although the weather cleared up towards the morning in the Kathmandu Valley, it is partly cloudy now.

Partly to generally cloudy conditions prevail in Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces at present while it is generally to fully cloudy in the rest of the provinces.

Light to moderate rain is likely in some places of Province no 1, 2, Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini, and in few places of Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces.

The weather condition will be cloudy in most parts of the country at night with chances of light to moderate rain at many places of Province no 1, 2, Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini provinces, and few places of Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces.

There is a possibility of heavy rain along with thunder and lightning at one or two places of Province no 1.

On Wednesday, the weather will be generally to fully cloudy in most parts of the country with chances of light to moderate rain at some places of Province no 1, 2, Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini provinces, and few places of the Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces.

There is also a possibility of heavy rain accompanied with thunder and lightning at few places of Province no 1, 2, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces.

A similar weather will prevail on Thursday as well.

The maximum temperature in Kathmandu was 30 degrees Celsius and the minimum 29 degrees Celsius today.

Biratnagar received the highest rainfall of 58 millimetres and Kathmandu experienced 28 millimetres in the last 24 hours.
