KATHMANDU, APRIL 8
The country is expected to witness widespread rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms, gusty winds and hail in several provinces today under the influence of a westerly low-pressure system and local winds.
According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD), weather will remain mostly cloudy in Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces, and generally cloudy elsewhere. Moderate rain and snowfall with thunder and lightning are likely at many places in these provinces, while a few places in the hilly and Himalayan regions of Koshi and Bagmati provinces, as well as parts of the Terai in Madhesh, Koshi and Bagmati, may also receive rainfall.
There is also a chance of heavy rain or snowfall at one or two places in the hilly and Himalayan regions of Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces.
Tonight, the weather is expected to remain generally cloudy across the country, with chances of light to moderate rain and thunderstorms at a few places in Koshi, Madhesh and Bagmati provinces, as well as in the hilly and Himalayan regions.
In the Kathmandu Valley, moderate rain with thundershowers is likely during the day, with temperatures ranging between 21°C and 23°C and a 60 percent chance of rainfall. At night, light rain with thunderstorms is expected, with temperatures dropping to between 10°C and 12°C and a 40 percent chance of rain.
