KATHMANDU, MARCH 31
The country is set to witness widespread rainfall, thunderstorms, and snowfall over the next 24 hours as active weather systems influence conditions across much of the country, the Meteorological Forecasting Division said on Tuesday.
According to the latest forecast, hilly and Himalayan regions of Koshi and Madhesh provinces, along with other parts of the country, will witness mostly cloudy conditions today. The Terai region, however, is expected to remain partly cloudy.
Meteorologists have warned of moderate rainfall and snowfall accompanied by thunder, lightning, gusty winds, and possible hailstorms at some places in the hilly and Himalayan areas of Koshi Province, and at a few locations elsewhere in the country.
Cloudy conditions are expected to persist into the night, particularly in the Himalayan region of Koshi Province and other parts of the country. The hilly regions will see partly cloudy skies, while the Terai is likely to remain mostly fair.
There is a likelihood of light rainfall or snowfall accompanied by thunder and lightning at a few places in the hilly and Himalayan regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces.
The current weather conditions are influenced by a combination of westerly winds, local wind patterns, and a low-pressure system positioned near the eastern region of Nepal.
