KATHMANDU, FEBRUARY 8

Minister for Health and Population Dr Sudha Sharma has conducted special monitoring and inspection of major health institutions in Sudurpaschim Province, including Shaheed Dasharath Chand University of Health Sciences, Geta Medical College, and Seti Provincial Hospital in Kailali.

During the inspection, Minister Sharma reviewed the physical infrastructure, availability of human resources, and the overall status of health service delivery at the institutions. The university and hospital administrations briefed her on their current operations, patient load, and the administrative and technical challenges faced in delivering services.

In a discussion held following the inspection, Minister Sharma reaffirmed the Ministry's commitment to play a leading role in facilitating additional infrastructure development and completing the necessary legal processes to improve the quality of health services and bring Geta Medical College into full operation. She assured full support through required budgetary allocations and policy-level coordination to make health services in Sudurpaschim more reliable and people-oriented.

The Minister also directed the management of Seti Provincial Hospital to move ahead with its upgradation to ensure accessible, effective, and quality healthcare services for the general public.
