Round Table Nepal has inaugurated a new residential facility for visually impaired children supported by the TriNetra Foundation, completing one of the organisation's largest community service projects to date.
Built over nine months at a cost of approximately Rs 18.3 million, the purpose-built facility will accommodate more than 48 visually impaired children, providing them with a safe and supportive living environment.
The residence includes six residential rooms, a dining hall, a fully equipped kitchen, washrooms and other essential amenities aimed at promoting dignity, comfort and overall development for its residents.
According to Round Table Nepal, the project was funded through contributions from the Dolma Foundation, the Mazzali Family, corporate partners, individual donors and well-wishers.
The initiative was led by Sanjeev Agrawal, Chairman of Kathmandu Round Table 1, a member table of Round Table Nepal.
The facility was formally inaugurated on July 18 in the presence of renowned ophthalmologist and humanitarian Dr Sanduk Ruit, who attended as chief guest. Representatives of donor organisations, Nepal Life Insurance Company, Round Table Nepal, volunteers and community members were also present at the event.
Speaking at the ceremony, Round Table Nepal representatives said the project reflects a shared commitment to ensuring equal opportunities for children regardless of physical ability or economic background.
They stated that the new residence would provide a secure home where visually impaired children can pursue education, develop life skills and build a better future.
Round Table Nepal said the facility stands as a long-term example of how collaboration among philanthropic organisations, businesses and individuals can create sustainable social impact and improve the lives of vulnerable children.
