KATHMANDU, JULY 7

The International League of Dermatological Societies (ILDS) and the International Society of Dermatology (ISD) in collaboration with the Society of Dermatologists, Venereologists, and Leprologists of Nepal (SODVELON) and Rare Skin Diseases Nepal, are preparing to commemorate World Skin Health Day on July 8 in Kathmandu, Nepal.

In a press statement, Dr. Niraj Parajuli, General Secretary of SODVELON, emphasized that this collaborative effort aims to propel a World Health Assembly resolution on "Skin Disease as a Public Health Problem." The day is dedicated to enhancing global awareness of skin health, understanding skin diseases, and expanding access to dermatological services.

Participants from around the globe will join in advocating for improved dermatological care and health equity. This global initiative by ILDS and ISD, occurring annually on July 8th, aims to educate people about the significance of skin health, fostering discussions and actions toward its improvement, reads the statement.

The day underscores a commitment to raising awareness about skin health and ensuring universal access to dermatological care. Key objectives include increasing awareness of skin diseases, improving access to skin services and resources, and giving a global voice to individuals with skin conditions.
