1 dead, 2 injured in Banasthali motor pile-up
KATHMANDU: A person died and two others including a 12-year-old child sustained injuries after a motorcycle they were riding on collided with a jeep in Banasthali Chok of KMC-16 on Monday, police said.
The deceased has been identified as bike-owner Khim Bhadur Budhathoki (32) and injured as Tilkumari Rana and Sujan LungeliĀ (12), all permanent residents of Siddheswor Rural Municipality in Palpa district.
According to police, the incident occurred when the motorcycle (Ba 66 Pa 4856) collided head-on with the pick-up jeep (Ba 8 Cha 931) and then was flung onto an incoming taxi (Ba 2 Ja 1373), yesterday in Banasthali Chok, injuring three.
The injured trio were rushed to the Mahankal-based National Trauma Centre where Budhathoki succumbed to his injuries during the course of treatment, informed police.
Meanwhile, all three vehicles involved in the incident have been impounded and the drivers of both four-wheelers are detained for further investigation.
