KATHMANDU: A person died after a motorcycle he was riding on was struck by a taxi near Singhadurbar Chok in KMC on Sunday  morning.

The deceased has been identified as Rup Ghale (21) of Rubivalley in Dhading district.

The incident occurred when the taxi ( Ba 2 Ja 2344) struck the motorcycle ( Ba 33 Pa 743) that Ghale was riding near Singhadurbar Chowk, critically injuring him, according to Superintendent of Police (SP) Umesh Ranjitkar at the Metropolitan Traffic Division.

Ghale was rushed to the Mahankal-based National Trauma Centre where he succumbed to his injuries during the course of treatment this morning, added SP Ranjitkar.

Meanwhile, police have impounded the taxi and detained the driver for further investigation, said police.
