KATHMANDU: A person died while another sustained minor injuries after a bus hit a bike they were riding on in Kalanki of Kathmandu on Friday.

The deceased has been identified bike rider Ratna Rai (43) of Tinthan, Kathmandu.

Rai, a permanent resident of Makawanpur, breathed his last while undergoing treatment at the Kalanki-based City Centre Hospital.

The bus (Na 6 Kha 2069) hit the two-wheeler (Ba 32 Pa 2436) at around 5:20 am, police said.

Pillion rider, who was injured in the incident, is receiving treatment at the same hospital.

Police said that the identity of the pillion rider is yet to be established.

Police have impounded the bus and arrested its driver for investigation.
