KATHMANDU: One died and two other sustained critical injuries  when two motorcycles collided with each other at Tripureshwor in Kathmandu in the wee hours of the Tuesday.

The incident occurred when the motorcycle (BA 68 Pa 5285) collided head-on with another motorcycle (Ba 19 Pa 4979) at around 12:35 am today.

The deceased has been identified as bike (BA 68 Pa 5285) rider Badri Ghatani (34) of Sindhupalchok, according to the Metropolitan Traffic Police Division.

Ghatani died in course of treatment at the Trauma Centre, Bir Hospital.

Police said that bike (Ba 19 Pa 4979) rider Bibek Parajapati (26) of Teku and pillion rider Santosh Bhandari (28) of Makawanpur district were seriously injured in the accident.

They are undergoing treatment at the Trauma Centre, police informed.
