10 nabbed for fuel black marketing

KATHMANDU: Police have apprehended 10 persons for their alleged involvement in selling petrol and diesel at a higher rate than its marked price from various parts of the Kathmandu Valley on Wednesday.

Police said that they have arrested Pawan Das (28) of Ram Nagar-8, Sunsari and Dev Das (25) of Betiyam, India, for selling petrol at a higher price than its marked rate.

Acting on a tip off, a police team deployed from the Metropolitan Police Circle, New Baneshwor, nabbed them from the motor garage of Dev at Gairi Gaun of Sinamangal, KMC-35.

Similarly, Saika Karki (34) of Biratnagar Municipality-35, Morang district and currently residing at Pepsicola, KMC-35 was detained with the petrol allegedly meant to be sold on the black market.

Likewise, a joint team dispatched from the Metropolitan Crime Division, Bhaktapur and Metropolitan Police Range, Bhaktapur rounded up seven drivers from seven vehicles with possession of a huge quantity of diesel and petrol.

Police said that they were nabbed in course of security checking at Jagati Chowk in Surya Binayak Municipality-8 of Bhaktapur.
