The 12th international conference of the Nepal English Language Teachers’ Association (NELTA) kicked off here today. Diane Larsern-Freeman from the University of Michigan delivered a keynote speech on ‘English and Social Mobility: Empowerment or Marginalisation?’.

Prof Govind Raj Bhattarai, the NELTA president, said, “English has become a compulsion to keep up with the changing world. The meet will help the teachers know about the latest development in the field.
