14 migrant workers return from Malaysia

KATHMANDU: A total of fourteen Nepali migrant workers, who had become ‘illegal’ in Malaysia, returned home at the initiative of Nepali Embassy in Kuala Lumpur on Friday. They were kept at various detention camps after being ‘undocumented’ and returned home after the Nepali mission arranged free-plane tickets with financial support from the Foreign Employment Promotion Board. Nepali Embassy said as many as 501 ‘undocumented’ workers have returned to Nepal on free tickets so far. Migrant labourers normally become ‘illegal’ if they lose their passports, or flee from one place to another.
